“I would love to be captain. I was captain of the Leicester youth team and really enjoyed it. Just having this role, really, I think brings out the best in me and my game – having a little more pressure and trying to help people around me, I think, is one of my strength“, explains Ben Chilwell. He reassures: “Whether I get it or not, it won’t take anything away from my role. I don’t think you need an armband to be a leader, so whether I get it or not, I’ll keep doing what I’m doing.” At present, Reece James is tipped to be the new captain of the Blues, alongside Thiago Silva in particular.
