Mercato: A departure from PSG formalized

This Friday, Mauro Icardi leaves Paris Saint-Germain for good and joins Galatasaray.

The love story between Paris Saint-Germain and Mauro Icardi had started perfectly in 2019. Arrived from Inter Milan with the status of confirmed player and two titles of top scorer in his suitcase, the Argentine striker had achieved a very good and promising first season before its interruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The sequel will be less rosy. Two seasons made complicated by injuries but also marital problems with his partner Wanda Nara which will push PSG to want to part with him. Last season, the goalscorer was loaned out to Galatasaray, successfully as he ended the season with 22 goals and 8 assists in 25 appearances in all competitions.

Enough to convince the leaders of the Turkish club to buy it definitively. This Friday, Galatasaray announced the final arrival of Icardi, who signs for a period of three years and allows the Ile-de-France club to pocket 10 million euros, far from the 70 disbursed in 2020 to afford it. The Turkish club continues its very interesting transfer window with the signings of Lucas Torreira, Nicolo Zaniolo, Dries Mertens, Juan Mata and Sergio Oliveira.
