PSG imposed another sanction on its star player because of the latter’s refusal to accept an extension or a departure.
Kylian Mbappé was unable to travel with the rest of his teammates to Japan for the summer tour. His management prevented him from doing so and it seems that this is not the only ban decreed by Nasser Al-Khelaifi about his star.
Between Mbappé and PSG, the break is consumed
In order to put even more pressure on the player and also convey the message that no one is above the club, Paris made sure that Mbappé did not feature in the promotional clip for Electronic Arts’ new video game, EAFC 24 (ex FIFA). Images of several club players (including Asensio and Kang-In Lee) were used by the designer but not that of the team’s best player. And it was perfectly calculated if we are to believe information revealed by Le Parisien.
Internally, to justify this decision, it was made known that the club did not want to take the risk of highlighting the figurine of a player who was not sure of continuing his career in the capital. An argument that stands up perfectly.
As a reminder, EA Sports made the choice this year not to keep Mbappé on its model of the game while the collaboration had been fruitful for three years. It was Manchester City striker Erling Haaland who stole the show from the France international.
