True to its reputation, FC Barcelona is omnipresent on the transfer market but its ambitions are hampered by its finances. The payroll represents a substantial budget for the Catalan club and limits its room for maneuver. Lately, sources close to the Spanish club told Mundo Deportivo that priority was given to the recruitment of a full-back and a midfielder. But without a massive sale, the Blaugrana cannot attract new players.

With this in mind, the Iberian media reports that FC Barcelona initially plans to find a base for the players loaned during the previous exercise. It’s done for Samuel Umtiti who signed up with Lille this weekend. Barça is also on target for Nico Gonzalez, leaving for FC Porto and whose final contractual details remain to be finalized, as well as for Alex Collado, close to Betis Sevilla. Apart from these three players, chairman Joan Laporta revealed that he had received offers for eight players from Xavi Hernandez’s squad. Among them, we find the louder names of Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres and Raphinha who have not given satisfaction this season. Some media argue that Arsenal would have sent an offer of € 50m for Ansu Fati despite everything refused by Barça considering that it was insufficient. To be continued…
