Paris SG has just been refused by one of the players it is targeting to strengthen its attack.
Already snubbed by Victor Osimhen, who prefers to join a more prestigious championship, PSG has just been repelled by another offensive target, in this case Rasmus Hojlund. The Danish international is more attracted to the Mancunian challenge.
The attack, a complicated project for PSG
Rasmus Hojlund has seemingly confirmed his desire to join Manchester United through a social media post. As the English club work behind the scenes to sign him, the 20-year-old recently ‘liked’ a photo of André Onana being welcomed by Ten Hag after his move to Old Trafford was confirmed. The photo was posted on the official Man Utd Instagram account and captioned: “The moment we’ve been waiting for.”
Hojlund admitted in January that he was a Man Utd fan. The striker market is quite complicated at the moment with Napoli turning down Victor Osimhen and Eintracht Frankfurt demanding a huge sum for Randal Kolo Muani, so he has become the Red Devils’ number 1 target.
Manchester United beat Paris
Atalanta’s asking price is an obstacle for the English giants, however. The coach of the Lombard team, Gian Piero Gasperini, recently said: “I don’t know if he will stay or go, but I hope the club will value Højlund at 80, 90 or 100 million euros. Rasmus is one of the best, if not the best, emerging talent in Europe as a striker”.
Hojlund joined the Bergamo club from Austrian side Sturm Graz for €17.2million last summer, but Atalanta believe his price will continue to rise if they retain him for the 2023/24 season. But the Danish international wants to move and he has already given his personal terms of his contract in the North West of England.
