Coveted by a Saudi club, Moussa Diaby has chosen to join the Premier League. The French international signed on Saturday with Aston Villa.

The agent does not buy everything! This is the lesson of the weekend, and it is signed Moussa Diaby. The former Paris Saint-Germain player had several options when leaving Leverkusen, as Bayer accepted two offers.

The Frenchman could have gone to Saudi Arabia, where he too would have benefited from a golden bridge. But at just 24 years old, the native of Paris has put the sport at the forefront by choosing to join the Premier League, and Aston Villa. The Birmingham club paid 50 million euros, plus 10 million euros in bonuses, to offer his services.

At this stage of his career, Moussa Diaby is fighting to integrate the France team more regularly, he has 10 selections, the last in March in Ireland. The winger is in the plans of Didier Deschamps, and to have more visibility he therefore favored England. He joins an ambitious Aston Villa team, which is strengthening nicely this summer (Youri Tielemans and Pau Torres have signed), and where he will find a certain Unai Emery.

Saudi Arabia will gladly console itself with a recruitment that has already exceeded expectations. Moussa Diaby could have joined the club of Al-Nassr, that of Cristiano Ronaldo, who recruited Marcelo Brozovic and Seko Fofana this summer.
