Arsenal are watching Kylian Mbappé closely and could use Gabriel Martinelli as a back-up to sign the Frenchman in 2024, according to FootballTransfers.
Although there are doubts over the ability of the Gunners to secure the transfer, it is no secret that the Bondynois admires the club and the project it offers.
The English press understand that Liverpool have also contacted Mbappé’s representatives, but they cannot afford to compete financially with last season’s Premier League finalists.
Arsenal know that any move for the superstar will either come in January next year or in the following summer transfer window.
The Mbappé/PSG affair
It comes after a direct letter from Paris Saint-Germain leaked, in which the club blamed their star player for refusing to leave during the window to secure lucrative loyalty bonuses ahead of a free transfer to Real Madrid next summer.
The Ligue 1 champions have been told Mbappé will not sign a contract extension keeping him at the club beyond next June, prompting Paris to make him available for transfer already this summer.
