The tricolor striker, Eugénie Le Sommer, sent violent spades to her former coach, Corinne Deacon.

Last March, and after a long absence, Eugénie Le Sommer found Les Bleues. The current tricolor top scorer has worn this tricolor jersey that he cherishes so much. Today she takes advantage of it, especially as she prepares to compete in a new World Cup, but that does not prevent her from rehashing the past and regretting the long period without the selection.

“Day and night between Deacon and Fox”

In an interview with Le Figaro, just before the start of the planetary tournament, the OL striker indicated that she still did not understand why she had been excluded from the selection. “No, I don’t understand and I find it a pity. But it’s like that. We are all different, with different personalities, seeing things differently. It wasn’t my perception of things, but I couldn’t help it. It’s very difficult to change some people.she confided.

Le Sommer went on to claim that the French women’s team now lives again under the direction of Hervé Renard, a coach with methods very different from that of Corinne Deacon. “Yes, it is a radical change. Day and night, she thundered. I can’t talk about the times when I was no longer called up, but there, when I arrived, I saw smiles again that I hadn’t seen in the selection for a very long time (…) Everyone was hyper-enthusiastic, happy to be there, this renewal and this new page which was beginning to be written ”.

To conclude, Le Sommer expressed confidence in the ability of Les Bleues to break the glass ceiling of the quarterfinals in the World Cup. “Talent, we have it in all positions. Now, you have to know how to express it. This will be a first thing. Then there is the tactic which will be important. And finally the psychological aspect. It takes collective strength in the team to go far. You always have to believe in yourself, as Argentina did in the boys’ category at the last World Cup”.
