Jordan Henderson has more than one foot in Saudi Arabia! Yesterday, we were talking about the agreement reached between Liverpool and Al Ettifaq for the transfer of the English midfielder for just over €13m. This Thursday, things accelerated because The Sun informs that the 33-year-old player has accepted the terms of his golden contract of £108m (around €124m) which awaits him with the Saudi club for the next three seasons.

Indeed, the English international will leave his partners present in Germany today. He was also left out of the group that won against Karlsruhe in a friendly (4-2) on Wednesday. The British media adds that the coach of the Reds, Jürgen Klopp, tried to convince Jordan Henderson to go to the end of his two-year contract. However, the main interested party declined, believing that with the arrivals of Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister, he would have very little playing time. “Ultimately, all of these decisions are made by me. And because I respect players a lot, it’s usually with consent. This is what happened and everything is fine”, admitted the German coach who did not want to give more details on the agreement reached between the different parties. In Liverpool since 2011, Jordan Henderson will find in Saudi Arabia another legend of the Mersey club, Steven Gerrard.
