English club Chelsea are ready to make a bid for Montpellier striker Elye Wahi this week. And the idea is to then temporarily transfer it to another French formation.
Wahi, future reinforcement of Strasbourg?
According to TMW, Chelsea intend to take action in the coming days to pull the rug out from under the competition. The Blues intend to buy Wahi and immediately send him on loan to French partners Strasbourg for the new season. As a reminder, Chelsea’s parent company, BlueCo, bought Strasbourg last month.
Strengthening a national rival should not please the MHSC and its president Laurent Nicollin too much. Blues officials are hoping a check for 35 million will be enough to get them to give in.
Wahi was one of the great attractions of the previous Ligue 1 season. Author of 17 goals in 33 games, he finished 8e best director of the championship. This notably earned him the nomination for the title of the best hope.
