The renovation of Santiago-Bernabeu, which should be completed by the end of 2023, will take a heavy toll on Real Madrid’s finances.

The next few hours could be decisive for the future of Kylian Mbappé. Back at PSG training, the French striker must meet its president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, who has given him an ultimatum and expects a definitive answer from him on his intentions. This meeting will allow Real Madrid to be, too, fixed on one of the hottest issues of its summer transfer window. If the 2018 world champion is put on the market, the Spanish club will undoubtedly move. Provided that the price set by the Parisian leaders is not exorbitant.

Because in parallel with his recruitment, which has already cost him 128.5 million euros (103 M€ for Jude Bellingham, 20 M€ for Arda Güler, 5 M€ for Fran Garcia and 500,000 € for the loan of Joselu) , the White House must deal with another heavy investment: the renovation of its stadium. Started in June 2019, the Santiago-Bernabeu construction site is on schedule. The new enclosure of the Merengues should be delivered, as planned, on December 23, with an inauguration with great fanfare. This will force Casa Blanca to start repaying its loan.

According brand, the total addition would amount to almost 900 million euros for the Madrid formation, 893 million euros precisely. And it is on July 30 that Florentino Pérez, the boss of the RMCF, will have to pay the first payment. If the cost will be amortized as soon as the new stadium is opened, at the beginning of 2024, since receipts linked to ticketing and merchandising will come to replenish the coffers, this project will force Real Madrid not to splurge on the market for transfers. Will the recruitment of Kylian Mbappé, starting this summer, be within the budget?
