Paris Saint-Germain have offered Manchester City two players in exchange for attacking midfielder Bernardo Silva.

Foot Mercato reports that PSG tried to lower Silva’s price by offering a swap deal through Luis Campos, his football adviser. The two players offered to City are Marco Verratti and Gianluigi Donnarumma, but the offer was flatly rejected by the Eastlands bosses.

Verratti was offered as a potential replacement for Ilkay Gundogan, who joined Barcelona in the summer, while Donnarumma could have rivaled Ederson for the number 1 shirt at the Etihad Stadium. Silva, meanwhile, is reportedly keen to join Paris, but City are hoping to convince him to stay.

The ball may be in the court of the Portuguese international, whose contract expires next summer. He could well join PSG at the end of the season, given that he is 28, and City may want to push Silva to make a decision sooner rather than later.
