Thomas Tuchel insists he has no intention of commenting on links with Tottenham striker Harry Kane, but he admits Bayern need a new striker this summer.
Bayern have reportedly made two formal offers for Kane, with the second being €100m. The offers were rejected, with Spurs wanting to receive £120m and doing their utmost to convince him to stay.
Tuchel hasn’t named Kane himself, but he insists Bayern need to buy a striker this summer.
“I have a very boring answer: I don’t comment on players who are not with us”, Tuchel said at a press conference when asked about Kane. ” Everyone knows we’re looking for a number 9. If we find someone who matches, then we’ll go all the way. If we can’t find anyone, we are satisfied with our squad. But we need more patience”
Kane’s future is uncertain as his contract expires at the end of the 2023-24 season meaning he could leave for free next summer. Paris Saint-Germain are also involved in the race and hope to convince the England captain to join Ligue 1.
Kane’s future is likely to make headlines this summer unless he decides to sign a new contract.
