Joao Felix’s future at Atlético de Madrid has been the subject of intense speculation in recent weeks, since it was confirmed that Chelsea would not sign him on a permanent basis.
Felix has therefore returned to Atletico, where he took part in pre-season training last week. However, he’s unlikely to stay at Madrid as he isn’t part of Diego Simeone’s plans for the next season.
In recent weeks, Felix has been linked with transfers to Paris Saint-Germain, Aston Villa and Benfica, but at this stage nothing has progressed, much to the frustration of the Portuguese and Atlético, who want the see go.
It’s almost certain that FC Barcelona won’t sign Felix this summer as his financial problems wouldn’t allow him to secure a permanent deal even if he was interested. However, according to MDthe 23-year-old wants a move to Catalonia.
FC Barcelona have been linked with Felix in the past, and reports suggest he dreams of joining Barcelona, although that is very, very unlikely at this stage with Xavi Hernandez considering other targets.
It remains to be seen where Félix will end up at the end of the summer. If he is still at Atletico Madrid at the end of August, FC Barcelona could have a chance to sign him on loan, provided finances allow….
