A great transfer window specialist has just lifted the veil on Kylian Mbappé’s real project for the rest of his career.
With only one year left on his contract at PSG, Kylian Mbappé recently declined the possibility of returning. At the same time, he ruled out a departure, indicating that he will be well in the Paris squad during the 2023/2024 season. A situation that has annoyed his management and which, moreover, raises questions about his career plan. What exactly is he planning?
“Mbappé, the first footballer to think like an NBA star”
Gianluca Di Marzio, the eminent transfer window expert at Sky Italia, believes he has the answer to this question. For him, the idea of the French star is to take advantage of all the privileges he has in Paris for at least another year before eventually joining the club he has dreamed of since his childhood.
“I know that Mbappé wants to stay. He really wants to stay because he’s the king in Paris. He is probably the first European player to think so, said the Italian journalist to Wettfreunde.net, then saying that the tricolor international is influenced by the stars of American basketball. He thinks like an NBA player, because in the NBA players decide their future at the end of their contract, in Europe we don’t think like that when it comes to transfers of footballers.
Di Marzio went on to stress that it was not impossible that Mbappé would drag out the suspense over his case for several more months: “I know the player’s will is to stay and decide during or at the end of the season what is the best situation for him. Extend his contract or go to Real Madrid or Liverpool”.
“Mbappé just wants to be free to choose”
Mbappé has been criticized for disrespecting PSG. Nasser Al-Khelaifi has also publicly lectured him for his attitude. For Di Marzio, it is a false trial that is being made to him. The French genius just wants to be free in his movements and his decisions: “I think what Mbappé wants has nothing to do with respecting PSG, Madrid or other clubs because he wants to be free to choose. Even if he stays at PSG until the end of the season, he just wants to wait for the right moment and the right decision if he thinks the club is doing everything right with the coaches and the players. Again, he wants to think like an NBA player and this is the first example of a football player thinking like an NBA player.”
