RC Lens has reached an agreement with RB Leipzig for the transfer of Loïs Openda, announced L’Equipe on Thursday.
The outcome was hardly in doubt in view of the desires of departure of the principal concerned. A Loïs Openda who had not hesitated in the press to speak about the opportunity that a transfer to Leipzig represented to him at this stage of his career. This Thursday, an oral agreement was reached between the red bull club and RC Lens, says L’Equipe. With the key for the Artesians a real gold mine.
The deal supposedly concluded provides for guaranteed compensation of between 43 and 46 million euros, plus bonuses capped at 6 million euros depending on the future performance of the Belgian striker, without forgetting the now traditional profit-sharing on the resale of the player. It is therefore a transfer of more than 50 million euros that Racing has just negotiated – the largest transaction in its history, and the largest investment ever made by RB Leipzig.

A friendly match on Bollaert’s lawn, with all the economic benefits that entails, is also part of the agreements between the two clubs. A pear for thirst. It remains to be seen how Lens will be able to replace their striker with 21 goals in Ligue 1 last season. The track leading to the Nigerian from La Gantoise Gift Orban – author of 20 achievements in 22 outings during the past financial year – is ultimately not topical according to the Team.
