A page turns at Inter Milan. Samir Handanovic leaves the Milanese club after 11 seasons of good and loyal service in Lombardy. The Slovenian goalkeeper even wore the captain’s armband during his time with the Nerazzurri. The 38-year-old goalkeeper signed with Inter on July 9, 2012. Since then, he has accumulated 455 appearances for 166 clean sheets, which allows him to join Ivan Ramiro Cordoba (also 455) in 10th place among players who have played in the greatest number of matches in all competitions under the jersey of the residents of the Giuseppe Meazza stadium. He also became the second foreigner to have played the most matches in the history of Serie A, ahead of Javier Zanetti (615 matches, all in the jersey). Inter also wanted to pay him a vibrant tribute.

Indeed, the Milanese club published a moving message to announce this news and pay a last tribute to Samir Handanovic after his many years spent in the Nerazzurri cages. “An absolute reference, a locker room leader, a courageous captain.
