The former agent of Marco Verratti did not mince words to describe the atmosphere within Paris Saint-Germain.

All is not always rosy for the players of Paris Saint-Germain. Inevitably more observed than most other players, the members of the club of the capital must sometimes face heavy criticism for their life off the field, this is particularly the case of Neymar or Marco Verratti, whose hygiene of life and recurring injuries are often singled out.

But the Italian midfielder was able to count on his former agent, Donato Di Campli, to defend himself. The latter has indeed heavily criticized the treatment received by the players of the Ile-de-France club, and he did not mince his words by going so far as to qualify the club as a prison. “We had decided to go to Barcelona. It obviously did not please the emir. Al-Khelaïfi even told me that if I kept trying to make the deal with Barça, Verratti would leave me, and that’s what happened. I’m sure Marco was scared, he won’t admit it, but that’s the way it is.”he explained in an interview with Report.

“A soulless club”

The players’ agent then explained that his relations with the Parisian leaders had been very bad and that the latter were only interested in money. “My experience with them is very, very bad. They are only interested in money, it’s a club that has no soul. They won’t let you go because the Emir and Al-Khelaïfi think that everything can be bought, that they can conquer the world only with money. But we have already seen that this is not possible”he added.
