With the signing of Cher Ndour, made official on Wednesday, PSG has completed the first part of its recruitment and is now working to enlist a new striker.
The first phase of the Parisian summer transfer window is over. Within a week, PSG recorded the signings of their new coach, Luis Enrique, and six reinforcements: Milan Skriniar, Marco Asensio, Manuel Ugarte, Lucas Hernandez, Lee Kang-in and Cher Ndour. Addition amount? 127 million euros, to which are added the 28.5 million euros of the option to buy Hugo Ekitike, on loan from Reims last season.
These recruits had been planned for several weeks and were only waiting for the appointment of Christophe Galtier’s successor on the bench to be formalized. But they shouldn’t be the only ones. According to RMC Sport, the capital club has now defined as “top priority” the arrival of a world-class striker. And the number 1 target of the reigning double French champions would be none other than Harry Kane.
€100m on Kane?
If several names have already circulated, like Victor Osimhen or Randal Kolo Muani, it is the English striker that PSG would court with the most insistence. The Ile-de-France leaders would have gone to London last week to discuss with the president of Tottenham, Daniel Levy, but also to exchange with the entourage of the 29-year-old player. A Spur that they would have planned to review in the coming days.
The difficulty for Paris Saint-Germain in this case is that it would not currently have the favor of the captain of the Three Lions, chased by Bayern Munich and more seduced by the German project. But the Rouge et Bleu have solid financial arguments to convince both Harry Kane, with a substantial salary, and his current employer, with an offer that could be around 100 million euros.
In case of failure, PSG could fall back on Dusan Vlahovic. More than Randal Kolo Muani, who would still appear in the small papers of the Parisian staff, the Serbian center forward (23 years old) would be the privileged plan B because he would better correspond to the profile sought by Luis Enrique to occupy the tip of his 4-3-3 system. But a departure from Kylian Mbappé could obviously upset these plans…
