The Red Devils can’t miss each other. To become truly competitive again, in the Premier League in particular, Manchester United must have a successful summer. In midfield, the Mancunians managed to enlist Mason Mount to the delight of Erik Ten Hag. In the cages, André Onana is expected, definitively pushing David De Gea towards the door. But that won’t be enough to annoy the other club in town. In front, the name of Rasmus Højlund was ticked. If the Red Devils have been very active so far, they will have to sell to replenish the coffers and allow the club to recruit the desired players.

Among the undesirables: Harry Maguire. Bought at a hefty price in 2019 (around €90 million), the native of Sheffield only played 16 Premier League games last season, helmed by Raphaël Varane, Lisandro Martinez and even Luke Shaw in central defense. Erik Ten Hag wants at all costs to get rid of the one who was captain of the Red Devils in order to recover funds which will make it possible to strengthen the workforce. Exactly, according to The Sun, Manchester United expects no less than 50 M€ to let go of its English defender. A high sum in view of the poor performance of the former Foxes. If for a while, Tottenham showed interest, Londoners would now turn to Edmond Tapsoba and Micky van de Ven, less expensive tracks. What is certain is that Harry Maguire is not in Erik Ten Hag’s plans and that one more season with the Red Devils would be dramatic for both sides. To be continued…
