Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland fought one last duel from a distance before the official end of the season. While France faced Greece on Monday evening, the captain of the Blues scored the penalty for victory in the second period and at the same time became the top French scorer in a season, club and selection combined, ahead of Just Fontaine, author of 53 achievements in 1957-1958. The Paris Saint-Germain player therefore returned to the same level as the Manchester City striker, but we still had to wait to find out if the Norwegian cyborg was going to improve his counter against Cyprus on Tuesday evening.

As usual, Erling Haaland was one of the main protagonists in Norway’s victory by scoring twice including a penalty goal. Thanks to his two additional achievements which bring his counter to 56 goals, the Manchester City striker then became the only top scorer of the season, ahead of Kylian Mbappé. With 56 twigs in 57 games, the Norwegian cyborg comes very close to achieving the incredible feat of scoring at least one goal per game. Despite this, he will be able to comfort himself with this honorary title. Erling Haaland has therefore won his duel from a distance with Kylian Mbappé!
