A great sale to come to Olympique Lyonnais without touching the holders? This is possible with the increasingly strong interest of several Ligue 1 teams for Romain Faivre.
This summer transfer market will allow Olympique Lyonnais to slim down its workforce. Several big salaries have already left like Thiago Mendes, Jérome Boateng, Moussa Dembélé or Houssem Aouar, and others should follow with Jeff Reine-Adelaïde and now Romain Faivre. The attacking midfielder never managed to find his feet at OL, when he was the technical leader of Stade Brestois, and signed for 18 million euros in January 2022. Despite a very disappointing year and a half, the Franco-Algerian has the possibility of bouncing back, and his successful loan to Lorient attests to this. As a result, the Lyon leaders could get away with this case, since a sale of 15 million euros is expected. So far, only a proposal for 11 million euros had been made, from the Hakes.

But L’Equipe announces that Ligue 1 clubs have woken up in this case. Monaco and Nice have expressed their interest, while Strasbourg has made it one of the priorities of their new coach Patrick Vieira. From now on, OL hopes to have several offers approaching the 15 million euros requested, to validate a departure which would be good for the wage bill, but especially for the trade balance. Nevertheless, the discussions are still ongoing, and could even lead to a small one-upmanship on the part of the various interesting clubs, to the delight of the Lyon leaders in this file which has long been considered a flop.
