OL must absolutely relieve its finances to reassure the DNCG. Les Gones are close to a nice sale in the next few hours.
John Textor and his project are running in slow motion for the moment. OL’s finances are in the red and the DNCG has decided to regulate the club’s payroll and transfer allowances while waiting to learn more about the course Les Gones want to follow. OL have appealed but in the meantime, the Lyonnais will have to reassure. This will notably involve good sales on the transfer market. Let OL fans be reassured, an almost unexpected way out has opened for Thiago Mendes in recent days. The Brazilian midfielder, very disappointing since his arrival from LOSC, will indeed engage in the next few hours in Qatar.
A departure that delights the management of OL

According to information from Fabrizio Romano, Thiago Mendes will sign this Wednesday for Al Rayyan after passing the traditional medical examination. In the operation, OL will receive 5 million euros. A nice sum for the 31-year-old player, who was at the end of his contract with Les Gones in June 2025. Something to breathe and therefore reassure. It remains to be seen who will exactly compensate for the departure of Thiago Mendes, who could help out both in midfield and in defense. Already, we know that Olympique Lyonnais will soon welcome two new players: Skelly Alvero (Sochaux) and Clinton Mata (Bruges). Regarding Christian Pulisic, the transfer looks complicated, the American preferring to join AC Milan. Note that the departure of Thiago Mendes will be far from the only one at OL this summer. Rayan Cherki, Alexandre Lacazette or Castello Lukeba are very courted and one of them should even be sacrificed.
