Pablo Longoria has launched the OM transfer window on the right track with the signing of Geoffrey Kondogbia. The OM president now hopes to strengthen Marcelino’s squad with full-backs and forwards.

A few weeks ago at a press conference, Pablo Longoria promised a broad review of the workforce of Olympique de Marseille during the summer transfer window. Eight to nine departures and as many arrivals, such is the objective of the Olympian president during this transfer period. In the direction of arrivals, there is currently a reinforcement and not the least in the person of Geoffrey Kondogbia. In its edition of the day, L’Equipe revealed this weekend that OM were targeting two full-backs on the left and one on the right in order to compensate for the departures of Sead Kolasinac, Nuno Tavares and Issa Kaboré.

The offensive sector will also be reinforced, Marcelino having the habit of evolving in 4-4-2. For the time being, OM’s squad has only one striker in the person of Vitinha, while discussions are still underway to extend Alexis Sanchez’s contract. According to the information issued on Monday by La Provence, Pablo Longoria’s objective is to recruit two attackers in the event that the Chilean international remains at the club.

Three attackers recruited this summer by OM?

If the former FC Barcelona striker were to leave, then OM would rise to three scorers to be recruited urgently on the transfer market. The Marseille media does not cite the names of potential scorers but according to the latest echoes, Wissam Ben Yedder (AS Monaco) and Folarin Balogun (Arsenal) are very popular with Pablo Longoria. For different reasons, these two tracks are however difficult to conclude for Marseille. The French international benefits from an XXL salary in the Principality while the Gunners striker, on loan to Reims this season, is estimated at nearly 40 million euros by the London club. Something to think about the leaders of OM, in full reflection on their quest for several center forwards.
