OM have seen some of their club-trained players move on to other horizons in recent years. Among them, Maxime Lopez, who delights in the colors of Sassuolo.

In Marseille, the seasons follow and look alike. If OM manages to do the job by qualifying for the Champions League, it is difficult to know what the sporting project really is. Because the workforce is turned upside down every summer or so. Among the players who left the ship to try their luck away from La Canebière, we can mention Maxime Lopez. The midfielder flew to Sassuolo. And in Serie A, Maxime Lopez regales. So much so that the best Italian teams are interested in him. At 25, the player wants to have as much playing time as possible. It remains to be seen whether he would be interested in returning to OM one day. And the answer has the merit of being clear…

OM, Maxime Lopez has moved on

In an interview with the Square Mediathe midfielder trained at OM indeed spoke about the subject without language of wood. Sassuolo is a very good club but I think the time has come to look a little higher. Return to OM? Sometimes I think about it but I don’t know if it’s a good thing. It will remain my favorite club but you don’t have to come back to come back. (…) I like Italy a lot, there are quite a few top clubs so if I could go to one of those it would be great”, in particular indicated Maxime Lopez, who does not want to force anything concerning OM. In Marseille, the environment and the pressure are very different and it is never easy to win over the long term. The message is clear in any case and the love story between Lopez and Marseille seems to be over. It has been said since the arrival of Rudi Garcia in Naples that an arrival of the Marseillais at the Italian champions becomes credible.
