Placed in police custody this Friday, Christophe Galtier was indicted and the current PSG coach will be tried on December 15 following the accusations made against him by Julien Fournier when he was on the Nice bench.

Summoned by the PJ of Nice in the company of one of his sons, who was released without any charge against him, Christophe Galtier will have to explain himself to justice. In a press release, the public prosecutor of Nice indeed detailed the continuation of this affair, linked to the sending of an email from Julien Fournier to the Ineos management following supposed remarks by Galtier.

Today, after searches conducted on April 14, 2023 and hearings of players, staff members and leaders of OGC NICE, MM. Christophe GALTIER and John VALOVIC were placed in police custody and heard by the investigators. At the end of their hearings, they contested the offenses with which they were likely to be charged. Deprived of any official function within OGC Nice, John VALOVIC GALTlER was released at the end of his hearings while Christophe GALTlER was referred to the prosecution for his summons before the Nice Criminal Court on December 15 2023 to be judged on the grounds of moral harassment and discrimination on the grounds of membership or non-membership, real or supposed, of an ethnic group, a nation, an alleged race or a determined religion. Provided for and repressed by articles 225-1 et seq., 222-33-2 et seq. of the Penal Code, the offenses of moral harassment and discrimination on the grounds of membership or non-membership, real or supposed, of a ethnic group, a nation, an alleged race or a specific religion are punished, at most, by a sentence of 3 years’ imprisonment and a fine of 45,000 euros “, said Xavier Bonhomme, Public Prosecutor of Nice. For the moment, the lawyer for the current PSG coach has not reacted.
