Mbappé at Real, the little line in the contract that changes everything

Despite PSG’s real desire to sell him this summer, Kylian Mbappé is still far from a transfer to Real Madrid.

A few days ago, Kylian Mbappé dropped a veritable bombshell on the transfer market by announcing via a letter addressed to Paris Saint-Germain his intention not to extend beyond June 2024. This simply means that the captain of the French team will be free to go to the club of their choice for zero euros in a year. An unthinkable scenario for Paris Saint-Germain, whose Qatari leaders have chosen to sell Kylian Mbappé this summer in order to recover a sum of between 180 and 200 million euros.

According to information from Foot Mercato, this price was directly set in Doha and corresponds to what Real Madrid is ready to put on the table to secure the services of the former Monegasque. The fact remains that for the time being, Florentino Pérez is in no hurry to finalize this operation and wants to be relatively cautious about a transfer of Kylian Mbappé during the summer of 2023. And for good reason, Real Madrid already has a agreement tied up for several weeks with the Mbappé clan for a contract from June… 2024, when the player will be free and therefore accessible for zero euros for the reigning vice-champion of Spain.

Mbappé, a bonus of 90 ME if he stays at PSG

This agreement between Real and Kylian Mbappé also holds for this summer, in the event that an agreement is reached between the Merengue and the Parisians. Except that neither Real nor Mbappé are in a hurry. Real for an obvious reason: why pay 200 million euros for a player who will be free the following year? As for Kylian Mbappé, he has a very attractive loyalty bonus in the contract he signed last summer at PSG.

If he is still in Paris next September – i.e. after the summer transfer window – he will receive 90 million from the club of the French capital, a sacred bonus which necessarily encourages the former Monegasque to stay at PSG for a short year of more. Foot Mercato adds that a Real Madrid offensive during the summer transfer window to recruit Kylian Mbappé cannot be ruled out, but in this case, Florentino Pérez favors caution and patience. He knows anyway that in the meantime, the only thing that can happen is that the price of the player drops for fear for PSG to see him leave free in a year. No reason to rush for the leader of Real Madrid.
