Loaned this season to AS Roma, Georginio Wijnaldum failed to revive in Italy under the orders of José Mourinho. The Dutchman would like to join Saudi Arabia but with a salary increase.

An important Liverpool player, Georginio Wijnaldum lost his way to PSG. The midfielder, loaned to AS Roma this season, has played only 22 games this season for 2 goals scored but no assists delivered. The 32-year-old will return to Paris this summer. But the capital club does not intend to offer him a starting role. The Dutchman is clearly invited to find another club. If Foot Mercato suggests that PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord are interested, the French media also reports that Wijnaldum has given his preference to Saudi Arabia. Seeing that the Persian Gulf country offers huge salaries to several players, the former Feyenoord Rotterdam player also wants to take advantage of this new Eldorado. Which is not to the taste of Saudi Arabia.

Wijnaldum too greedy for the Saudis

Georginio Wijnaldum, who receives a salary of 10 million euros per season at PSG, wishes to have more remuneration if he joins the Saudi league. His greed considerably cools the league which does not plan to offer such a salary to the Parisian midfielder who leaves his agent to take care of salary negotiations. The former pillar of Liverpool still has Euro 2024 in his sights and must remain competitive if he wishes to participate. Despite the fact that Saudi Arabia wants to develop its championship with the arrival of great players like Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo, the salary demanded by Wijnaldum is far too high. Another thorny issue that Luis Campos will have to manage this summer in addition to the other undesirable PSG players.
