The Girondins de Bordeaux have decided to go before the French National Olympic and Sports Committee after having lost their match against Rodez. The file will be studied this week.

While the passage of Bordeaux in front of the DNCG was postponed from June 22 to 28 at the request of the club with the scapular, following the study of the file of the match against Rodez by the disciplinary committee of the LFP, that against the CNOSF will have take place this Friday. Penalized with a lost match and one point less next season, due to the intrusion of a supporter in the middle of the match and his gesture against the Rodez striker, the Girondins de Bordeaux have decided to contest this decision. And it is therefore this Friday, June 23 at 11:30 a.m. that this appeal will be studied.

Bordeaux will have to fight hard

But, as L’Equipe reminds us, even if the CNOSF gives reason to Bordeaux a few days later, it seems almost impossible that this meeting of the 38th day of Ligue 2 will be replayed, when it was decisive for the climb, but also for the descent. Because the Olympic Committee only gives an opinion and this opinion will not be binding on the Professional Football League. For this to be the case, then Gérard Lopez will have to go through the appeal committee of the French Football Federation, and even an administrative tribunal. In other words, it seems certain that Bordeaux and Rodez will meet next season in Ligue 2, the Gironde idea being above all to try not to have this penalty point from the start of the 2023-2024 season.
