As his contract expires in June 2024, Kylian Mbappé refuses to activate the option to extend for a year. Paris Saint-Germain being categorically opposed to his free departure next year, a transfer could be privileged this summer. Especially if Qatar manages to buy Manchester United.

Spent at a press conference on Thursday, during the gathering of the France team, Kylian Mbappé did not seek to calm things down. The Paris Saint-Germain striker confirmed his position and said he was surprised by anger of its leaders. As a reminder, the French sent a letter to his superiors to confirm his refusal to activate the optional year. The captain of the Blues could therefore leave free in 2024. An unthinkable scenario for the Ile-de-France management who is thinking of transferring him this summer.

Unsurprisingly, this development alerted the Spanish press, which already sees Real Madrid jumping at the chance. Except that the Merengue may be faced with an unexpected competitor. On the other side of the Channel, the Daily Mail says that the current management of Manchester United, although looking for a very high level striker, does not have the means to conclude the transfer of Kylian Mbappé. But the sale of the Premier League resident could change everything. Especially if Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al-Thani wins the tender.

A dirty trick at Real Madrid?

With Qatar in control, we can imagine that the Mancunian club will benefit from an increased transfer window budget. Note that the Spanish press does not exclude this hypothesis either. For its part, the daily El Pais understands that intermediaries in Qatar, as early as last January, had announced to Kylian Mbappé that he could be transferred to Manchester United in the event of a takeover by the Qatari investor. Apparently, the kid from Bondy would not have closed the door, no doubt to the delight of Paris Saint-Germain who will not hesitate to thwart the plans of Real Madrid.
