Present in Paris in recent days, Zinedine Zidane was not there to discuss with PSG while the capital club is looking for its future coach.
The timing may be disturbing with the waltz of coaches in Europe, OM and PSG, but the 1998 world champion was there for the good of a charity that he has been helping for a very long time. Regarding a possible arrival at the champion of France, it has been twice that Paris SG openly solicited him, each time with a negative response. This was still the case recently, when Nasser Al-Khelaïfi toured the technicians capable of taking over from Christophe Galtier.
Zidane and PSG, it’s not going to do it
A refusal that is sometimes difficult to understand. If in 2021, Zizou could put forward a very coherent argument, namely that he dreamed of coaching the France team and was waiting to know what the fate of Didier Deschamps would be, this is no longer the case. The tracks leading to Juventus Turin and Real Madrid are not really solid, and PSG offers all possible guarantees with a position to take and colossal financial means.

On the Jour de Foot set, journalists reacted to the Parisian’s announcement, stating that Zidane had politely refused the post of PSG coach. The misunderstanding largely dominated, especially since no reason was given. Geoffroy Garétier, however, surfed on the big rumor of a sale of Olympique de Marseille to try to understand. “Zidane refuses PSG? Some rumors have raised the specter of the takeover of OM by investors. It’s a sea serpent that’s coming back right now. And so inevitably, Zidane would go to Marseille. Me, I dream that he comes to PSG “Said the Canal + journalist, who finds it difficult to understand Zidane’s refusal to go to Paris when all the signals are green.
Without going so far as to promise Zidane to lead OM in the event of the club’s takeover, there is clearly an obstacle between PSG and the former playmaker. From there to saying that he will play the game of the Provençal club if ever things were to change this summer, the march is high. Especially since the former Real Madrid coach attaches great importance to his environment and his quality of life, and he knows that seeing him train OM would also trigger collective hysteria of which he is not really a fan.
