Maintained on the gong in Ligue 1 on the evening of the last day, FC Nantes will experience a turbulent summer with many movements during the transfer window.

The summer will be hot at FC Nantes, which is preparing for an extremely turbulent transfer window. In its edition of the day, L’Equipe takes stock of the situation of the Canaries and the transfer window to come. Before thinking about player departures and arrivals, it is crucial to know who the Nantes coach will be. A priori, it will be Pierre Aristouy, successor to Antoine Kombouaré on the Nantes bench for the end of the season and who should be confirmed for the 2023-2024 season.

With what workforce will the new Nantes coach have to manage? The question arises because the movements are likely to be very numerous. In the radius of departures, three players at the end of the contract will not be extended: Corchia, Petric and Traoré. Loaned without a purchase option, Guessand will return to Nice. The same goes for Joao Victor, whose return to Benfica Lisbon is certain. To these five departures, it may be necessary to add those of three executives, namely Blas, Simon and Lafont… all three at the end of their contract in June 2023 and for whom the fear of a departure for zero euros in a year exist.

Sissoko, too big a salary to stay in Nantes?

Two other big departures are envisaged by the staff of the Canaries, those of Mostafa Mohamed, loaned by Galatasaray with an option to buy too expensive (6 million euros) and Moussa Sissoko, whose XXL salary estimated at 300,000 euros per month is not really in line with its performance. Doubt also surrounds the future of Andy Delort, but keeping Nantes triggered his automatic transfer for 5 million euros.

The former MHSC striker should therefore stay even if for the time being, the mayonnaise has not taken with Nantes. “Pierre Aristouy would like reinforcements on the sides, in particular, to complete a group which would include around fifteen confirmed elements surrounded by young people” adds L’Equipe, for whom Nantes wishes above all to reconnect with its DNA by trusting the young people of the training center in order to fill all departures. A winning tactic during this summer transfer window after a chaotic season? Answer in the next few months.
