OL will not play in any European competition next season. The Rhone club nevertheless wants to be active this summer during the transfer market.
Laurent Blanc’s men ended their season this Saturday with a pitiful defeat on the lawn of Nice. What definitively seal the fate of OL, which will not play in the European Cup next season. This was at least predictable and John Textor will have to reassure very quickly about his project. The American owner of OL has promised changes this summer and great investments. But the Gones may have a little trouble attracting. The market for players at the end of their contract will therefore be very large. And OL already have quite a few names in mind. A long-time target, Ellyes Skhiri could well end up wearing the Gones jersey next season…
Skhiri, the very good pick of the OL transfer window?

In recent hours, FC Cologne has indeed formalized the departure of the Tunisian, who could not agree with the German club to extend his contract. Skhiri is highly appreciated by the Rhone board and Laurent Blanc. It must be said that the former Montpellier player ticks a lot of boxes. Physical and sentry of choice, Skhiri can also turn into a goalscorer, as evidenced by his 7 goals in 32 Bundesliga games this season. Problem for OL all the same, the fact that Sevilla FC is also very keen on the idea of recovering the 28-year-old Tunisian. Contacts are even well advanced with the Andalusian club, which will play in the Champions League next year. OL will therefore have to surpass themselves but also act quickly to reverse the trend and convince Ellyes Skhiri to take up the Rhone challenge. Nothing is less certain, however.
