The medical points are similar for Sergio Rico, five days after his hospitalization. But those around him hope to see him come out of the coma next week.
In a point made to the Spanish press agency EFE by the Seville hospital, the medical teams announced that no significant development had been reported in the state of health of Sergio Rico. The next point will be made next Monday, 8 days after his hospitalization due to a violent fall from his horse on the approach to the pilgrimage of Rocio (Huelva). The PSG substitute goalkeeper is still sedated, and the medical teams hope to see the head injuries partially resolve over time, which explains this inevitably endless wait for his family and loved ones. His wife has spoken several times recently to thank the many testimonies of love and courage towards her husband from the Sevilla team or PSG, as well as all the players and friends who have given him their support.

The condition of his injuries is still considered “stable in severity” even if the doctors hope to be able to lower the sedatives in the coming days to see if Sergio Rico responds favorably and wakes up as gently as possible. The Spanish press evokes a will of the medical teams to wake him up from the coma induced next week, and underlines a slight but real revival of optimism among his relatives and his family. The caution of the medical profession, however, inspires restraint and no risk will be taken for Sergio Rico, for whom the doctors will be attentive to his awakening and possible consequences of this terrible accident.
