Laurent Blanc has not had an easy time since taking office at OL. But the former PSG coach is still part of John Textor’s plans.
OL have disappointed again this season in Ligue 1. Barring a huge twist, the Rhone club will not play in any European competition next season. What obviously worry fans more than disconcerted by the unfulfilled promises. To make matters worse, significant events have taken place, such as the departure of Jean-Michel Aulas. The club’s new owner, John Textor, wants to totally revamp the sporting organization chart. A new sports director will land and we could logically ask ourselves the question of whether Laurent Blanc would be maintained. A question answered by John Textor.

In an interview given to The Team, the American businessman was indeed very clear on the subject. For him, there is no question of doing without the services of Laurent Blanc, who has largely done the job: “ Yes, I don’t change coaches easily. I made it clear. Laurent did a great job. In the second half of the season alone, we are at the top of the rankings. We want to give him more resources for next season.”. For John Textor as for Laurent Blanc, the observation has been made: OL lack too much quality but above all character. A lot of moves are therefore expected this summer during the transfer market. A strategy will be quickly put in place. “I want us to strengthen the squad with experienced players with a certain tenacity. With this will to win. More players like Lacazette. We want leaders. The coach is right.” also specified the new strong man from Lyon. We will now have to put all this into practice, while OL may have some difficulty in attracting, not competing in the European Cup in the next exercise.
