Mariano Diaz released by Real Madrid

Trained at Real Madrid, and well known in Ligue 1 since he played at Olympique Lyonnais, Mariano Diaz leaves the Merengue free. His contract was not extended.

Having moved to OL for one season, Lyon having bought him from Real Madrid in 2017 before reselling him to the same club a year later due to a contractual clause provided for in the initial transfer, Mariano Diaz did not really had the opportunity to shine in the jersey of his training club. And this Saturday, on the eve of the last game of the season for Real Madrid in La Liga, the Florentino club confirmed that they had not made an extension offer to the 29-year-old striker. The latter is therefore free to sign wherever he wishes.
