Ligue 1, 38th and last day
Nantes in difficulty, Nantes jostled but Nantes saved. The Canaries won the game they needed to save themselves. A 1-0 success over Angers thanks to a goal from Ganago in the 16th minute, held until the end somehow. The Nantais were helped by the Lensois, winners 3-1 at Auxerre. The Sang et Or took advantage of the defensive errors of Radu, the Auxerre goalkeeper. AJA finishes one point behind Nantes and is already returning to Ligue 2, a year after its rise.

In the race for Europe, Rennes made the right deal. Bruno Génésio’s men won the derby in Brest 2-1, passing Lille for fourth place. LOSC failed to hold on to victory at relegated Troyes, conceding a 1-1 draw. Monaco will have almost worried the Mastiffs but in the end ASM failed to beat Toulouse, losing 1-2 on the line. Rennes will play the Europa League and Lille the Europa League conference. Monaco will not play Europe at all.
In the other matches, OL failed in Nice with a 3-1 defeat. Same thing for OM, beaten to everyone’s surprise by Ajaccio in Corsica 1-0. PSG also lost, 3-2 to Clermont after leading 2-0 at the Parc. Montpellier beat Reims in Champagne 3-1 and Lorient beat Strasbourg 2-1.
