Quincy Promes, Dutch flagship striker, who plays in Russia, is being prosecuted for importing 1,300 kilos of cocaine, the prosecution announced on Tuesday.

The fall continues. Spartak Moscow’s Dutch international striker Quincy Promes, already on trial in the Netherlands for stabbing a cousin, is now also being prosecuted for importing more than 1,300 kilos of cocaine (a batch of 650 kilos and another of 713 kilos) , the prosecution announced on Tuesday.

Aged 31, the former Ajax Amsterdam striker, already suspected of involvement in drug trafficking and participation in a criminal organization, is accused, alongside another Dutchman of the same age, of having imported in January 2020 “several hundred kilos” of cocaine, in particular via the port of Antwerp, in Belgium, indicated the public prosecutor to AFP.

The preliminary hearing will be held next Monday, according to local media. The player will not be present due to contractual obligations with his club, Dutch news agency ANP reported.

In a separate case, the Dutch public prosecutor requested in March two years in prison against Quincy Promes, accused of having stabbed a cousin during a dispute in July 2020. The footballer, who was no longer selected with the Countries -Bas since Euro 2021, was initially prosecuted for attempted homicide but on the basis of several testimonies, the prosecution concluded that there was no evidence to establish that his aim was to kill the victim.
