Episode 162: All About That Lass…and 10 other players

Episode 162

Welcome to the FFW Podcast.

The first half of the season is over – Gazelec ended on a high, beating a low on confidence Lyon side – which should see the end of Hubert Fournier’s time at OL.

Marseille drew 1-1 away at Bordeaux. It may have saved Sagnol to keep Girondins great home record against OM alive. There were some positive signs though.

The team then debate and pick their Team of the Season so far. Some players are unanimous, some are contentious and some are surprising.

  • Shocked no mention of Enyeama, had a phenomenal first 6-ish games and’s been consistent since. I don’t rate Boufal as highly as others do, but there’s not a better option for the left imo …

    ——Enyeama
    Aurier-Da Silva-Thomas-Sidibe
    ——Diarra—-Ndoye
    Di Maria ———— Boufal

Boufal had a handful of good games, but was poor before Renard got sacked and hasn’t picked up since. The stamp against Bastia showed a poor attitude and he has a lot to learn. Khazri, Ben Arfa and others definitely more deserving – and that comes from a Lille fan – Andrew

Thoroughly enjoyed the show, gents. Very surprised not to hear Da Silva get even a mention though, his continued improvement has been at the heart of Caen’s much-improved defensive record for me.
