Thiago Silva – Happy At PSG
Paris St Germain captain Thiago Silva has made it clear he plans to fulfil his contract with the club after recently being linked with a move to Bayern Munich. The defender arrived in Paris in 2012, signing a contract extension in the summer that ties him down at the Parc des Princes until 2018. But despite being a key part of the ambitious plans PSG have, there had been reports the Brazilian was interested in joining Bayern.
Silva was a crucial part of PSG’s title-winning team last season, and the 29-year old has again be a key part of Laurent Blanc’s side that currently sit five points clear of Monaco at the top of Ligue 1 and are favourites with Unibet. As well as their impressive domestic form, PSG are also preparing for a last-16 tie with Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League, which offers the French club a great chance of reaching the quarter-finals.
The Brazil international had been linked Barcelona before signing his contract extension in the summer, while recent reports have claimed that Bayern are interested in the centre-half, with a move tipped by some to be on the cards this summer. But Silva has come out and insisted he is not looking to leave the French champions.
“I want to stay here and I believe I’ll see out my contract. PSG are one of the biggest clubs in the world nowadays. It’s up to us to keep the team that way,” insisted the PSG captain.
“I think we can replicate our good performances in the league in the Champions League. The team are doing very well and I owe my presence in FIFA’s dream team to them too.”
