The first weekend in Ligue 1 has come and gone and we have a action packed episode of the podcast for you.

Vaishali, Jon and Andrew talk about the opening games of the season. Lorient’s excellent performance in the Parc des Princes. Is Yoann Gourcuff on the verge of finding his old form and will Didier Deschamps have to consider him for the France squad if it continues. Also Bastia get off to a great start in Ligue 1 and show that they have the talent to stay in this division.

Also we have two special features this week. First up Jonathan Ervine on his visit to Paris went to watch one of the other teams in the city. With Red Star FC taking on Amiens on the same weekend as PSG’s opening game against Lorient. We had our man in the Stade Bauer to cover the game and then afterwards he caught up with former Middlesbrough and Birmingham City defender Franck Queudrue.

Then the next day our very own Jonathan Johnson was invited into FC Lorient’s team hotel and sat down with President Loic Fery and talked about the team, their ambitions and how he thinks PSG will influence the league for good and for bad.

A pretty good show if you ask me.
