Ligue 1: The Best of 2011 – Part 4

Best of 2011

In the final part of our look at the best bits of 2011 we have some fantastic clips to show you. Gary Linton starts us off, and Gary is an example of what we were looking to achieve here at French Football Weekly.

“It was the first full Ligue1 match I’ve watched and from that moment on I continued to watch as I thought to myself. Hey this is a pretty damn good game. From then on FFW has just got me so much into French football and I’m now a follower of Ligue 1.”

Now we hand it over to the good people of twitter for four of the best moments of 2011. Joey or @JoBoDro picks out Montpellier as his moment of 2011.

“I think THE highlight is Montpellier coming out of nowhere. Surpises like this are why Ligue 1 is such a joy.”

We’ve picked Montpellier’s 4-0 win over Lorient to show off their fantastic brand of football that has seen them end 2011 second in Ligue 1.

After their poor start to the season Marseille have enjoyed a spirited fight back at the end of 2011. There was only one moment that Marseille fans were going to pick for their favourite of 2011. @ElpidaAl explains more.

“Le classique last month,it was an important victory for les marseillais!”

Two more moments to end the year and they both feature Paris St Germain and Lille. And both clips showed the moments were Lille collected their amazing league and cup double.

@Mattdemlein says “as much as it pained me….the French cup final……”

@mohammedali_93 picked “PSG 2-2 Lille – highly ferocious match.”
