While the future of the Parc des Princes continues to be debated, Emmanuel Grégoire, first deputy mayor of Paris and candidate to succeed Anne Hidalgo, expressed his wish to reopen discussions with Paris Saint-Germain. During an intervention on BFM ParisGrégoire affirmed that a solution could be found quickly, although the sale of the stadium remains excluded.

“The transfer is not on the table”

Despite the tensions between the town hall and the management of PSG, Grégoire stressed the importance of keeping the club in the capital. “PSG is a club for which we have affection, not only me, but the Parisians and the Grand-Parisians,” he declared. However, he reiterated that the Paris Council is firmly opposed to a transfer of the Parc des Princes. Grégoire instead suggests working on an economic model that will allow PSG to amortize the investments necessary to modernize the stadium.

Building a new stadium: a Herculean task

In response to PSG’s ambitions to build a new venue on the outskirts of Paris, Grégoire highlighted the colossal challenges of such a project: “Building a 100,000-seat stadium with all the environmental and transport constraints would take at least 15 years. I wish them good luck. » Its priority: to relaunch calm and dispassionate discussions to find an outcome favorable to all.
