I just read in the press like everyone else, I’m not concerned”reacted Kylian Mbappé (25 years old), about the alleged rape case, during his trip to Stockholm last October, when he was announced forfeited for the gathering of the France team, at the same time.
Thursday morning, the Stockholm public prosecutor’s office also ruled on this matter. L’AFP indicated that Swedish justice decided to close its investigation into alleged rape due to evidence deemed insufficient, even though Kylian Mbappé had not even been heard: “people suspected of crimes should not be questioned without suspicion being raised. In my assessment, the evidence was not of such a nature that I could carry out the preliminary investigation.”explained the prosecutor, Marina Chirakova.

But this Friday, the Swedish press, via Expressenshared the story of the complainant, who initially assured that she had been “told in advance that they would party with a world star, but we didn’t know who it was”said the young woman in her twenties, who was part of a group of around twenty women invited to this event. The party took place in the ping-pong room, a secluded part of the nightclub and “Kylian Mbappé took the time to speak to those who approached him”. “He was happy and dancing, playing a lot of table tennis. Yes, but I felt quite relaxed, I would say. I talked to a lot of people”she explained, before attacking those around the Real Madrid player: “They were on all the girls and they didn’t have much respect for them”.
The French captain was present with Nordi Mukiele, a security agent and an assistant during the evening. Reportedly, six women were selected and specially invited to Kylian Mbappé’s suite at the Bank Hotel in central Stockholm, where the party continued. When questioned, the woman who spent the evening with Kylian Mbappé says that she was dancing and that the two kissed. A few minutes later, the woman went to the toilet and then found herself alone with Kylian Mbappé in the bathroom. The woman gave police a detailed account of the events, leading them to investigate rape.
The plaintiff withdrew
She notably claimed to have been clear about her refusal to have a sexual relationship with the former Parisian. The incident lasted a few minutes, then Mbappé left the room. The complainant finally filed a complaint two days later, for rape and two cases of sexual harassment: “I found it so disgusting, I felt disgusted. I couldn’t hold back, I started crying and I needed to let off steam.”she revealed, revealing a conversation with a friend of hers.
But ultimately, the complainant withdrew and the Swedish courts decided to close their investigation. “I’m not saying it didn’t happen. I say that when the complainant does not want to participate, I have a problem with proof”said the Stockholm prosecutor. As a reminder, in his interview with Click on Canal+Kylian Mbappé denied all accusations from the start, but assured that he had a consensual relationship with her.
