Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz is set to be one of the biggest transfers of the 2025 summer transfer window, and it looks like he could stay in Germany.

Wirtz is attracting interest from the biggest fish in his native England and Spain. Bayern Munich are desperate to land one of Germany’s best talents, and pair Jamal Musiala with him, as Julian Nagelsmann did with the Mannschaft.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid, who could have Xabi Alonso at the helm at some point, are also expected to make moves for Wirtz.

Wirtz in high demand

The Athletic, as reported by Diario AS, claims that Leverkusen will need more than 100 million euros to part with the 21-year-old. The Whites consider this to be a difficult amount to raise for Wirtz, and they are unlikely to go all out for the creative talent. Bayern, for their part, are keen to pull off a major coup.

FC Barcelona have already expressed interest in Wirtz – as have most big clubs – but it appears it will be Bayern and Real Madrid who will compete for his signature. Manchester City have also been linked with Wirtz and could be tempted to make a move, particularly if Kevin de Bruyne leaves.
