FC Barcelona signs a partnership with an academy in Senegal

FC Barcelona celebrated its 125th anniversary this Friday. On this occasion, the Blaugrana club organized a major event to which the players of the first team were invited, as well as former legends of the Spanish club such as Frank Rijkaard, Xavi and Gerard Piqué. Barça took the opportunity to present its brand new mascot: Cat.

The mascot was designed by Barcelona-based designer and illustrator Carlos Grangel, known for his work in the animated films “Madagascar”, “Kung Fu Panda” and “Hotel Transylvania”. The name of this mascot refers to the animal in English, but also to the abbreviation of “Catalonia”. The club promotes and reaffirms the link between Barça and its region.
