OM want to strengthen their defense and are eyeing a French international from Chelsea.

As the winter transfer window approaches, Olympique de Marseille could strengthen again. Despite an eventful summer, the Marseille club still displays defensive shortcomings, particularly in its central hinge, where its captain Leonardo Balerdi remains the only real sure value.

In this context, Marseille leaders would consider recruiting a central defender. According to Monaco-MorningOM would have set their sights on Benoît Badiashile, the French international from Chelsea.

A loan to relaunch Badiashile?

According to the regional daily, the Ciel et Blanc contacted the Blues to try to obtain the player’s loan. Little used in the championship by coach Enzo Maresca, the former AS Monaco player could be seduced by the Olympian challenge to restore momentum to his career.

Under contract with the London club until June 2028, Badiashile is valued at 30 million euros per
Transfermarkt. Since the start of the season, he has played 10 matches in all competitions, but only two in the Premier League.
