French star Kylian Mbappé is going through a very tricky patch and his game without at Anfield saw him reach a very alarming level of mediocrity. He has become the laughing stock of Europe and voices are being raised to push him to question himself.
Among those who criticized him was former French international Vikash Dhorasoo. Speaking on the L’Equipe channel, he advised the Bondynois to reconnect with the fundamentals.
“We have to get back to basics, get back to work. We need clicks”he confided.
“Mbappé stopped running at 20”
The former PSG player continued by indicating that Mbappé too quickly became lazy on the pitch. “He is one of the least running attackers in the world. Messi and Ronaldo ran less but that was when they were on top of the world. He stopped running at 20.”
“He should be motivated by the fact that he hasn’t won the Champions League yet. He didn’t manage to get back into it, he thought the others would start running for him. He must put himself back into the service of others”added the Mauritian.
“He lacks confidence and hides”
Dhorasoo then concluded by affirming that he does not recognize Mbappé at all compared to the one he used to see in Paris: “On Wednesday, it was mainly situations where he could attack from deep and where he finally went back. Before, the team where he played, Mbappé made it stronger. Every time he had the ball, something happened. There, we wonder how he is going to lose the ball. He lacks confidence and he hides a little.”
