Enzo Maresca believes there will be no problem in reintegrating Enzo Fernandez into the Chelsea team, despite the storm surrounding him.

The Chelsea midfielder is facing disciplinary action after posting a video of the Argentina national team singing a song that was branded as
“racist and discriminatory” by the French Football Federation. Fernandez, who sang the chant with some of his team-mates after the Copa America triumph, later apologised and Maresca, Chelsea’s new manager, came to the 23-year-old’s defence.

Maresca said in Santa Clara on Tuesday: “ The player made a statement, apologized and the club did the same. I don’t think there is anything to add, the situation is already clear.”

” Human being “

Asked whether there would be problems getting him back into the team, the Chelsea manager added: “I don’t think so, to be honest. At the end of the day, they’re all human beings, I don’t think there’s any bad intentions on the part of any of them.

When Enzo returns, I don’t think we will have problems, the player has already clarified the situation and the club has done the same. There is nothing more to add.

“It’s not a bad element. It can happen, I don’t think there’s any problem. I spoke with Enzo, I spoke with many of them. The player made a statement and apologized, that’s clear.”
