With the summer transfer window in full swing, Liverpool have been keeping a low profile in the transfer market. However, the Reds do have a few priorities regarding their squad, and one of them is none other than Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract extension.
Indeed, the English right-back, whose contract expires in June 2025, could leave for free at the end of next season if no extension is found by then. According to information from The Athleticthe Premier League club therefore aims to secure the future of its player by tying him to a new lease.
Real Madrid is on the lookout
This situation has obviously not escaped the competition. According to the Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Alexander-Arnold would also be in Real Madrid’s sights. And the Merengues could take advantage of the contractual situation of the 2024 European vice-champion to try to recruit him next summer.
“I think it could happen in the summer of 2025 if Alexander-Arnold doesn’t extend his contract at Liverpool”believes the transfer specialist. It remains to be seen whether the 25-year-old player, trained at the club, will be open to leaving Liverpool after eight years spent on the banks of the Mersey.
